Laurie Teitsma-Hedgecock

Laurie Hedgecock, 51, of Granby, passed away September 30, 2017, at her home, with her family by her side, after battling cancer. Laurie was born August 6, 1966, in Midland, MI, to Gerard "Jerry" and Elizabeth "Libby" Teitsma. She married Paul Hedgecock June 14, 1992 at the Grand Lake Lodge.
Laurie and Paul have worked hard running their business, Highland Marina, on beautiful Lake Granby, for the past 3 decades. Laurie loved life! In her spare time, Laurie enjoyed boating, traveling with the 5th wheel, warm beaches, riding horses, and spending time with friends and family. She especially enjoyed Lake Powell, where she will take one final trip with friends and family sometime during warm weather. Laurie also had a huge passion for ALL animals. She loved her pack of mini-Aussie's, who she actively bred, creating many happy canine families over the years.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Hedgecock, daughter, Kaitlyn Hedgecock, son, Kiffer Hedgecock; her parents, Jerry and Libby Teitsma; her In-Laws, Polly and Harn Hedgecock, who are all local to Granby; and by her sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Carl Damon, niece Sophie, and nephew Ben, of Centennial, CO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Laurie's name to Northwest Colorado Health, 940 Central Park Dr., Ste 101, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487, who provided outstanding hospice care to Laurie and her family during her last few months of life.
A memorial service will be held at Mustachio's on the Lake at 1PM on Sat. October 21.

We were very sorry to hear about Laurie. We are keeping you in our prayers

I am sorry for your loss. Please allow God to comfort you through this painful loss through His promise to care for our dead loved ones in the resurrection at Acts 24:15. Death was not a part of God's original purpose for mankind and that is why it is so hard to deal with this kind of loss. But our loving Heavenly Father has provided a solution to all of our problems including sickness, old age and death through His kingdom{government} in the hands of Jesus Christ our Lord real soon so that we can enjoy the wonderful life He purposed on a paradise earth. {Psalms 37:9-11,29}

I didn't know Laurie personally, but heard her spoken of lovingly by two of my favorite people ever: Jerry and Libby. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Laurie. When this happens to parents it is not only unexpected that we out live our children, but it is extra difficult even to understand.

Your faith will be a stronghold for you now and later as time passes. Mike and I are sending our prayers and we sure will be thinking of you both.

Prayers to you,
