Gerry McMahon, mother of Dr. Jeri Moat and mother-in-law of Deacon Jim Moat, both of Grand Lake, passed away on November 6, 2013 at the age of 91. She was born in Philadelphia on July 18, 1922 to John and Mary Parkinson, the youngest of their four children. In 1944 she married Francis J. McMahon and was a military wife for 20 years, moving often. They had five children, Mickey (dec), Pat, Jeri, Dennis, and Mark. She was widowed in 1965 and lived in Avon, NJ for the following 21 years. In 1986 she moved to Round Rock, Texas to live with her daughter and her family and remained with them until her death. Grandma was a blessing to her family, neighbors, and church community at St. Anne Church in Grand Lake. She lived her faith through prayer, hospitality, generosity, kindness, patience, gentleness and perseverance.

Just returned from overseas today to receive this notification of "mom's" death. Sad with her passing...but my memories will primarily reflect on how inclusive Jim and Jeri and boys were to ensure she always felt wanted, loved, and in good hands. What a wonderful life she had and there is comfort in knowing that she now remains in very "good hands" with her loving God. My love to all.

Grandma will be missed by all who knew her. She had such a warm and friendly face. It matched her heart. I can't believe she always remembered my name! Jeri would say "I didn't even quiz her on it"! On her 90th Birthday I told her my name tag should say "Grandmas favorite" She flashed her smile and held my hands in hers. Still to this day I know I was one of her favorites!Thank You Jim&Jeri,Mark&Mary Pat for taking such great care of her! She's our angel now! Sending prayers your way.. Love, Grandmas favorite!!!
