My condolences to Larry and the Marte family. Eunice had a great impact on my early years of life which I will always be thankful.

My cousin, Eunice, was one amazing woman! Though I grew up in Minnesota, and she in Colorado, there were many memorable visits over the years. At 16 I spent a couple weeks during the summer with Eunice and Leo on the ranch. She was the rancher's ultimate wife. She could do a man's day of labor outside, as well as being Julia Child in the kitchen. The smell of her freshly baked bread and sweet rolls I remember to this day. She was a smart woman with a ready smile, great sense of humor, and a concern for others. We shared a common heritage. Our parents were Norwegian immigrants raised with the importance of integrity and the work ethic, which reflected throughout Eunice's life. At one time there was some talk of a company drilling for oil on her property. When I asked her what she would change in her life if they struck oil she replied "Very little; life's good just the way it is". No pretenses for Eunice.... she was the REAL thing.

A true Granby area pioneer who made our history and community what it is today.

As many of you know ,Eunice took me into her home when my dad died. It was a hard time for both of us , yet she often would be waiting up for me when I came in and had a cup of tea ready we would sit in the dark looking out at the lights of Granby talking many hrs..many of those she shared stories of her up bringing . He parents and Grand parents were strong believers in Jesus and they had instilled a hope in her ,she didn't talk about this part of her life openly she felt it was private..but she told me of her hope in the return of Christ more than once..so I am assured she is welcomed into heaven by her mom and dad and grand parents with others who have went before..I am very proud and thankful of my heritage both their faith and the lives they lived out for me to see..I thank them for their prayers that kept me...Eunice is in my future...thank you .. Jesus.. our memories keep us till the time of our reuniting ..
