Dear Betty, This summer I planted flowers on your grave and Alexa and Paige made a beautiful stone for you and it is placed on your site with flags for the 4th of July. It is a beautiful place for you and we all love going to visit and talk to you. I am so happy that I was able to bring you here in Grand Lake as that was what you wanted. It always makes me happy to be there with you. I miss and love you. It is still hard knowing I will not see you again in this life but I am also happy for you knowing you are with mother, dad and God.

Hello "B", It's your birthday. Wish you could celebrate this last one with all of us. All of your wishes have beeen followed. Still think of you and miss you everyday, but that's okay.

Your can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray she'll come back or you can open your eyes and see that she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

So strange having to write this instead of being able to just call you and talk! You meant so much more to me than you will ever realize Betty! I think what I will miss the most is that you never were judgmental of me or what I was going through and whenever we talked you had a way of just laughing and listening! I have so many memories of us together, most of when we lived at Grandmother and Grandfathers. I loved laying in bed with you and just talking, loved going to concerts with you, you were an amazing cook, a fabulous entertainer, a beautiful Aunt, with an amazing spirit and I love that everyone tells me I laugh just like you! LOUD and PROUD!!!! I will miss you my friend, my Aunt Betty!!!!! I love you! Rachael

Betty, a little piece of your heart remains with me. I will always love you, miss you, and hold you in my heart. Always, Scout
