Robert Leonard Heid Jr.

July 17, 1963 — February 12, 2026

Kremmling, Colorado

It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bob Heid Jr., who left us on February 12, 2026, at the age of 62.

Bob was born on July 17, 1963, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Bob Heid Sr. and Melva Heid. He grew up in Texas, carrying with him the lifelong values of hard work, integrity, and devotion to friends and family.

Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Debbie, for 41 years. Each anniversary, he marked their love by giving her a white rose for every year they were married. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom to his three children—his Bud, his Little Bit, and his Munchkin—whom he loved so dearly. As both husband and father, he was a constant presence, a trusted guide, and a source of knowledge. He could fix anything and always seemed to have an answer for everything.

Professionally, Bob was a lifelong mechanic, known for his dedication, work ethic, and the respect he earned from colleagues and friends. He knew everyone, and he never hesitated to help anyone who needed a hand.

Outside of work, Bob loved his German shepherds, M&Ms, and a good adventure. Whether vacationing at Lake Powell, camping with friends, or ATVing in the mountains or Moab, he embraced every moment. But the passion he poured his heart into most was bringing joy and Christmas spirit to others through his ever-growing Christmas light display. What started as a simple candy cane on a roof in Texas blossomed into a full experience—with hand-built decorations, his 4-foot candy canes lining the driveway, flying Santa and reindeer, a 22-foot snowman made for Debbie’s love of snowmen, and a tree dedicated to each grandchild. He loved watching cars line up outside his home, families smiling as they enjoyed the music and lights he crafted with so much care.

Bob lived for his grandchildren. He often said they were the best part of life itself—an extension of his children and a source of endless joy. He cherished teaching them, learning from them, and watching their personalities grow. Whether he was showing them how to fix something, taking them on little adventures, or simply sharing a laugh, he made each grandchild feel uniquely loved. His Christmas light display reflected that devotion—each dedicated tree a symbol of how brightly they lit up his world. Through them, his legacy of love, strength, curiosity, and joy will continue to shine.

Bob is survived by his wife, Debbie; his children Bobby III (Amy), Terrie (Todd), and Brenda (Travis); his father Bob Sr. (Elena); his sister Becky (Dennis); his cousin Elizabeth (Emma); and his eight grandchildren: Samantha(Gabe), Elexis, Tallison, Shayla, Torin, Bobby IV, and Gunner. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dorothy, Ken, and Bertha “Grandma B”, his mother Melva, and his granddaughter Ravyn. His legacy continues through his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched.

Per Bob’s wishes, he did not want a funeral service. Instead, his family will spread his ashes alongside his mother’s on one of his favorite ATV mountain trails—a place of breathtaking beauty that held everything he loved about being in the mountains.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Shaw Cancer Center for their care and support during Bob’s battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shaw Cancer Center / Vail Health Foundation: https://donate.vailhealthfoundation.org/give/211174/#!/donation/checkout

Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved. His legacy of strength, hard work, and unwavering love will live on in the family he cherished and in the joy he brought to others.
