Parker D. Thomson Jr. went home to his lord and savior on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.
Born in Boston, he lived over half his life on the East Coast. When he was young, his family relocated to Coral Gables, FL, outside of Miami, where he often enjoyed sailing and swimming. He attended the boarding school Kent Academy in CT for high school, where he discovered his lifelong passion for skiing in nearby VT at the age of 15. In his younger years, he enjoyed touring the CA coast by road bike and much of western Europe.
He met his wife, Jeanette, in Miami, and they were married in 1983. After living in several states in 1992, he moved his young family of 3 children west to Fraser, CO. He was an accomplished ski instructor who achieved his level 3 PSIA certification and was awarded ski coach of the year from 2005-2006 for the J5 class alpine ski team. In 2018, he was honored by Winter Park Resort, receiving his 25-year service award. He loved The Valley and was an avid outdoor enthusiast, teaching his children to fly fish, backpack, and ski. Always a lover of sports, in his later years, he took to the art of Kung Fu-Tai Chi and was awarded a black belt.
He was passionately dedicated to his faith, church, and community. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Thomson, his children Janna, Parks, and McRae, as well as his two granddaughters.
His memorial service will be held on June 6th, 2026, at 11 am at Winter Park Christian Church.
