Mark Stephen McPherson

Mark McPherson, 70, passed away on December 16, 2024 in his apartment located in Granby, Colorado.

Mark was born on April 5, 1954 in Boulder, Colorado, to Ted McPherson and Margeret (MacCormeck) McPherson. Mark lived in various towns on the front range of Colorado including Boulder, Greeley, and Longmont until he joined the Army in 1972. Mark served in the Army for 6 years and completed his service in 1978 with an Honorable discharge. During his career in the United States Army, he was awarded the National Defense Service Metal, an Expert Field Medical Badge, Expert Grenade Badge and Marksman M-16 Badge.

In 1991 Mark joined Applewood Baptist Church located in Wheatridge, Colorado and entered into the LORDS army. He built sets for various plays and drove the childrens’ bus for the Applewood Baptist Church.

Mark loved the mountains in Colorado and eventually found his way to The Fraser Valley in 1994. Mark was the General Contractor for Fraser Valley Baptist Church (Valley Life Church) and worked closely with many of the original members to complete the construction of the building. After the completion of the church building, Mark made it his mission to maintain the building in perfect order. He also supported many community gatherings and shared the love of Christ to those that surrounded him. Mark also worked for Grand Woodworks in Tabernash, Colorado and Carquest in Granby, Colorado.

Even though Mark did not have any kids of his own, he loved kids. He supported three children through Compassion International.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Ted McPherson and Margeret McPherson and half-sister, Donna Essert and his beloved dog, Cheyenne.

Mark is survived by many close friends of Grand County, Colorado--too numerous to mention.

A remembrance celebration will be held at The Fraser Cemetery at 10:30am on the 14th of June, 2025 with a reception to follow at 12:00pm at Valley Life Church located at 100 Doc Susie Ave, Fraser, Colorado 80442.
