Obituary of Margaret Burger
Margaret Lavern (Frye) Burger
Margaret Lavern (Frye) Burger passed away on Oct. 20, 2011, at the Kremmling Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. She was born on Nov. 1, 1927, in Fraser, to Lloyd W. Fyre and Violet A. (Smith) Frye.
Maggie, as she was lovingly known, attended schools in Fraser, Montrose, Denver and Kremmling. She graduated in 1945 from the Fraser High School. After graduation, she served as a war-time teacher until 1947. On June 15, 1947, she married Grant W. burger and they moved to Kremmling, Colo., where they built their house and started their family, David, Grant II and Linda (Jerry) McMillen.
Maggie was first a homemaker and mother. She loved crafting and cooking. She later worked at the Middle Park Times newspaper, where she won a press award for her achievements. Maggie had a wonderful sense of humor. She was also a "Grand County Citizen of the Year."
Maggie leaves behind sons David, Grant II and daughter Linda (Jerry) McMillen, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a sister Carole (Clarence) Nelson, many relatives and friends.
The family will celebrate her life in June of 2012. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. As she would say: "Don't tell me what to do, I'll love you if I want to."
This world, however beautiful, was never meant to be. The place that we call our home for all eternity. And though we would not choose to leave, a loving God knows best. And in His time He lifts us to a place of peace and rest.
