Obituary of Joe Yoakum
Joe C. Yoakum passed away April 21, 2012 at the age of 85 after a brief hospitalization. Joe was born December 18, 1926 in Stillwater Oklahoma, where he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University A&M. He proudly served his country from 1945-1947 in the Army Air Corps. After his honorable discharge he married Norma Lee Rambo in June of 1947. The couple moved to California where Joe was employed by McClatchy newspapers for nearly 35 years. Norma and Joe have been summer visitors/residents of Grand County for many years beginning in the early 1960's when Norma's parents , Wiley and Blanche Rambo began their retirement here. Joe is survived by his wife, Norma Lee, daughters Linda Crane and husband Kelly, Sandra Lea Stainbrook and husband Royal, 4 grandchildren; Travis Crane, Stacey Maalik, Kristin and Sarah Britton as well as 3 great grandchildren. Graveside services are being held Friday April 27th at 2:00 PM at the Grand Lake Cemetery
