Jimmy "Hambones" Hammer born December 29th, 1956 in Denver, Colorado, to parents Khazal Mohammed Ali Al-Hammer & Dorothy Wood Hammer. Jimmy's was the fifth child of eight children: Sue-Sue Hoffman Westminster; Saad Hammer , Laila Urban Westminster; Najat Wood Centennial; KC Hammer Kremmling; Diana Hammer - Javrin, Ali Hammer Leadville.
His niece Saadia Hammer & Nephew Dylan Javrin both preceded him in death.
He had a special place in his heart for his very large family.
Jimmy "Hambones" Hammer, passed away on October 17th in Westminster, Colorado, the same city where he grew up as a child, attended school & played baseball. Later, part of the family moved to Iraq then to Arvada, Colorado, and finally ending up in Parshall, Colorado. There he helped his parents with their business the Parshall General Store, and settled in Kremmling CO.
Jimmy married & raised three stepchildren as his own: Raquel Thompson Loveland; Wesley Thompson Loveland & Brandon Thompson, Kremmling. His step grandchildren surviving him are Aubrey Burr & Travis Thompson, who he so loved & adored. They brightened up his life.
Jimmy as a little boy used to talk to the animals. When driving up to the mountains on weekly family summer camping trips, Jimmy would say, "They are my friends". His family would laugh as he told his stories. I guess this is where his love for the outdoors began. Jimmy was truly an outdoorsman, skilled archer, national winner for bow hunting & quite the fisherman. He was an avid sportsman, even making his own arrows. Jimmy could live off the land for which he had great respect. He was great at story telling especially about his hunting & fishing expeditions.
Jimmy began working at the Henderson Mine around 17 years ago in management as a Mill Diagnostic Mechanic. He was very proud of the work he did at the mine & made many close friends. Like family, they are also experiencing his loss.
Jimmy was a good, proud, strong, loving, and supportive man. Jimmy Hammer was a man you could be proud to say you knew.
We will deeply miss Jimmy "Hambones".
