Obituary of Harold Smith

Harold Ray "SMITTY" Smith


Born January 14th, 1929 in Fraser Colorado. Harold spent his life in Fraser working mostly in the timber business as a logger. He loved being in the outdoors-fishing and hunting. He believed there was no prettier place than the Fraser Valley.


Harold spent from November 5th, 1952 through November 4th, 1956 in the United States Airforce serving in Fort Bliss and Fort Biggs in Elpaso Texas as well as Warren Airforce Base in Wyoming .


Harold passed away after losing his battle with lung cancer on Tuesday, March 6th in Windsor Colorado. He is survived by his wife "Helen" of 62 years. Son "Steve Smith" of Windsor, Colorado, Daughter "Donna Bennett" and her husband "Rick" of Firestone, Colorado. His sisters: Helen Timmons, Lois Makelburg and Viola Newberry. Two Grandsons: Tory Smith of Grand Junction, Colorado and Jason Smith of Granby, Colorado. Two Great Granddaughters: Brooke and Jaiden Smith. Two Great Grandsons: Dylan and Austin Smith.


Harold wished to be cremated and services will be held at a later date to be announced in the Spring. Donations may be made in his memory to Heart of the Mountains Hospice, PO Box 140, Hot Sulphur Springs, CO 80451.
