Doris Braun, 69, of Grand Lake passed away May 30th, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
Doris was born on July 20th, 1947, in Zé¼rich, Switzerland to Albert Neukom and Gertrud (Schnellmann) Neukom.
After raising their two daughters in Zé¼rich, Doris and her husband Egon decided to move their family to Grand Lake, CO in 1995 to start their new venture as the owners of the Waconda Motel & Restaurant.
Very quickly Doris started getting involved with the chamber and all the fun Grand Lake events, eventually taking charge of the GL Fireworks Organization.
Everyone who ever came to town knew about the cute bald lady dressed in red, white and blue, collecting fireworks donations at the stop sign.
She is survived by husband Egon Braun, daughters Anita Entz and Monika Conger, their husbands Dustin Entz and Sam Conger, and grandchildren Dylan and Landon Entz, Cameron and Lucas Conger.
She was the most giving person, and will be missed by all.

Additional Service InfoA Memorial service for Doris will be held on Thursday July 20, 2017 between 2-4 PM in the Grand Lake Town Park followed by a Celebration of Life -Marooned (Waconda) from 4-9 PM. At 9:30 PM there will be Fireworks for Doris over beautiful Grand Lake. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in a jar around Grand Lake or at Grand Mountain Bank "Fireworks for Doris" or mail a check made out to Fireworks for Doris to PO Box 1698, Grand Lake, CO 80447. Lets celebrate her life with a BIG BANG!
