Craig Kenneth Schmuck

Craig Schmuck, beloved father and friend, passed away on Friday, August 1st, 2025. 

Born on September 5th, 1953, to Chuck and Barbara Schmuck at the old clinic on Tunnel Road in Grand Lake, CO, Craig lived a life filled with laughter, love, and kindness. Craig was a devoted father to his son, Ben, with whom he shared a special bond. A father figure to many of Ben's friends, Craig dedicated much of his time to providing them with memorable childhood experiences. He loved taking Ben and his nephews camping, fishing, and hunting, embracing the beauty of nature and fostering a sense of adventure in their lives. One of the most cherished memories was when Craig and Ben performed together in Grand Lake, with Ben playing the gut bucket while Craig sang alongside him, a moment that captured their joyful spirits and deep connection.

Craig was also a great older brother to his five siblings, providing them with support, guidance, and love throughout their lives. He is survived by his sister, Jennie Schliep, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and warmth.His laughter and spirit touched countless lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with Ben, watching over us with love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 1pm until 3pm at the Daven Haven Lodge in Grand Lake, CO.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Hope Fund at The Grand Foundation, expanding Grand County's mental health services.

Craig Schmuck will forever be remembered for his laughter, dedication to family and friends, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
