Obituary of Callie Slatten

Callie Patricia Slatten, of Granby, Colorado, passed away Tuesday April 9th 2013 at Kremmling Memorial

Hospital at the age of 61. Callie was born on April 9th, 1952 in Angleton, Texas. After a childhood spent

between Texas and California, Callie's family moved to Grand County in 1969. She graduated from

Middle Park High School in 1970. Callie gave birth to her only son Kyle in 1974.

Over the course of her career she owned and operated numerous successful hair salons, and was

professionally licensed in cosmetology, massage therapy and as an aesthetician. Ms. Slatten also spent

a period of her career in hotel and resort management locally in Grand County as well as in Vail,

Colorado. Her most recent passion and professional achievement was earning the certification of

Quantum Energetics Practitioner. She also held multiple certificates in meditation instruction,

lightwork, energetic healing, and re-connective healing therapy.

Callie was an accomplished musician and enjoyed a successful career as a performance musician touring

the country and sharing her music. Many people locally have fond memories of Callie's beautiful voice

and infectious positive energy.

Alternative healing became a lifelong passion as Callie found joy in helping others to improve their lives

and encourage them to see new possibilities. Her nurturing attitude and friendship often crossed over in

to her professional life and inspired others to live their passions. Whether it was helping someone with a

new hairstyle, teaching a meditation class, sharing a new venture, or singing a beautiful song Callie

touched every life she encountered in unexpected ways.

Callie's family was the light of her life. The bond she shared with her granddaughter and both nephews

was immeasurable. She loved to share new experiences with them including outdoor fun, gardening,

music, and exploration. She always saw the often unrecognized magic within each of them and was a

beautiful example of light and love. One of her nephews said " the lesson I remember most from Auntie

Callie is she taught us how to love."

She is survived by her son Kyle Tillotson, his wife Nicole and granddaughter Greya all of Thornton,

Colorado, her mother, Autumn Angelo of Evergreen, Colorado, her sister, Theresa Cinocco, and brother

in law Dean Cinocco, and nephews Christopher and Caden Cinocco of Granby, Colorado. Callie is predeceased

by her father, Eugene "Gene" Angelo, formerly of Hot Sulphur Springs.

"We never know how far the ripples of our life will spread. So live with open arms, love with boundless

passion, let the wonder of the world wash over you." Anonymous

The family will be having a "Celebration of Life" gathering in honor of Callie early summer 2013. Date

and location to be announced.
